Column formwork tubes

Formwork tubes are paper tubes developed to meet the specific requirements of the construction industry.
For easier handling, the surface of the formwork tube can be treated by the user with a hydrophobic (water-repellent) coating, which makes it easy to remove from the finished concrete.

After removing the formwork tube, a properly compacted concrete column has a smooth, regular cylindrical surface. For indoor use, the surface can easily be laminated or wallpapered.

Void formers: paper tubes laid into a concrete slab make the slab lighter, allow walls with a lower load-bearing capacity to be used, and achieve the same strength with less reinforcing steel.

Available formwork tube sizes

Inner diameter: 215 mm, 252 mm, 280 mm

How to use column formwork tubes

Place the reinforcing steel (as specified by the structural engineer) into the formwork tube. Tie the reinforcement protruding from the foundation to the reinforcement inside the tube.

Slide the tube onto the foundation and fix its top vertically, firmly enough that the concrete coming from the concrete pump cannot push it out of position. Meanwhile, compact the concrete with a vibrator. The tube can easily be removed from the finished column by cutting it, e.g. with a circular saw, along two lines 180° apart almost down to the concrete, and then prising it off.
